Functioning as an expanded introduction to the audio and manner established on Tom's Demo Tape, Vivida Vis! is a welcome continuation of the band's cynical, left fly viewpoint. Trigger-happy Downwardly the Walls is a perfect instance of the bulk of the album's cloth, with Laura singing about the infighting and chaos that would follow a successful revolution ("Fill y'all full of promise with your back against the wall/interpret a hopeless freedom where bondage liberate the soul"). It's not a perspective I agree with, but it's certainly one I can understand at my about depressed moments. Tracks like this and Burning Bridges (a self-aware rejection that a band similar Confronting Me! can incite political change) also demonstrate an increased sense of musical fullness with the presence of some solid drum rhythms.

While the first leg of the album oft gives the impression that Confronting Me! were the outset Doomers, the music'southward tone does brainstorm to shift afterwards a while. Eden Quest is an ode to the dire, just persistent, circumstances that drive anarchists to "Spit in the face of the courteous oppressor like a slap in the confront from the exercise-expert master." The second one-half is fortunately full of tracks like these, like the anti-imperialist National Myth and bleak, apocalyptic reminder of In one case Pure. Vivida Vis does circle around to complement its initial cynicism on the closer though, which describes the struggle of choosing between "self-intendance" and direct action. It's this rounded viewpoint that makes Vivida Vis! a very achieved album, fifty-fifty in its weaker musical moments.

Shit Stroll and In The Proper name of What are the best songs.

I similar this a lot amend than Reinventing Axl Rose. The vocals are more than focused and the guitars are more driving. It's not polished at all, simply considering this is a demo tape it's still pretty fun to listen to.

Highlights: Shit Stroll, This Is Control

then it's been almost a decade since this scratchy tape was "released" by an eighteen year old kid with sketch "punk" ideals, little musical talent, and an uncanny ability to capture everything others desire to but can't say in the space of a vocal. i'1000 sure no one gave a fuck about this album until it striking the internet, and that less than 300 people own a concrete copy of it, then i would hesitate to call vivida vis a archetype; but the songs here are a coupling of some of the all-time lyrics tom gabel ever wrote with surprisingly strong songwriting that shines through even the lo-fi recording setup and shit cassette rips that float around soulseek. this is essentially a demo tape, but when songs written by some punk who just learned guitar suffer by his clear hereafter musical and personal evolution, not to mention a major label signing, it suddenly seems similar the all-time demo record in the globe - and in my opinion information technology is. shit stroll, national myth, this is control, once pure; songs that stand up up to the entirety of reinventing axl rose and the eternal cowboy, and make searching for a one-time clarity wait like the tired piece of shit that it is. it might non be much as an album, only it is a valuable snapshot of a point in time earlier life got to punk.

protozoic against me!

interesting at least!

the best against me! album out at that place. it is deff more than representative of the real confronting me!, like more anarcho-folk-punk, what they were ment to sound like until they made as the eternal cowboy.
